Student Support
Barony College strives to provide the best possible education opportunity for learners and offers assistance with curricular matters, careers advice and appropriate help on personal matters.
Each student is assigned a Course Tutor who is the primary contact within the College and each subject area has a senior member of staff who can also help with guidance for learners.
The Student Support Services Manager, Domestic Bursar and Child Protection Officer are normally available throughout the day and are always willing to assist or advise where special help can be obtained.
Extra support with communication, numeracy and IT as well as course specific topics is provided by subject tutors and student support staff.
These sessions will normally be set in the course timetable.
Barony College has access to additional supportive technology for individual learners when required but will need written evidence of learning needs from the student before these can be accessed.
A student committee is elected by students on an annual basis and with the help of student support services staff a number of social events are organised throughout the academic year e.g. Halloween party, Christmas dinner, Burns supper.
As a back up to student support staff, a comprehensive list of agencies for support is available to students on the College Intranet who may wish to access help independently.
