Firewood Preparation and Chainsaw Safety
Course Details:
This course is designed for those who would like more confidence when using their chainsaw for their own personal use, for example cutting up firewood or for recreational fencing. In an informal environment you will be given guidance and advice and practical tuition from one of our qualified Forestry Instructors.
Please note that this course has the same content as our Basic Chainsaw course.
Course Content:
Safety awareness
Guide bar, saw chain and power unit maintenance
Re-assembly
Health and safety features
Lubrication and fuelling
Personal protective equipment
Starting and pre-cutting checks
Cross-cutting timber.
Certification: A Lantra Awards certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

Course Fee: £300.00 per person
Duration: 4 weeks
4 x Wednesday evening sessions from 6pm- 8.30pm
2 x Saturday morning sessions from 9am - 1pm

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
