Brushwood Chipper Operations

Course Details:
This course will take place on site or at the Barony and will provide candidates with the skills to prepare, operate and maintain brushwood chippers. It will be delivered by one of the Barony's qualified forestry instructors and leads to NPTC assessment in manually fed woodchipper operations.
NPTC assessment takes place on a separate day, usually a couple of weeks after the course has finished depending on assessor availablity.
Course Content:
- Identify potential hazards and risks
- Understand requirements of risk assessments
- Identify and inspect machinery as to PUWER regulations
- Identify appropriate PPE
- Carry out a plan of operation
- Convert machine to working position
- Inspect chipper and report on serviceability
- Carry out daily maintenance
- Operate machine safely
- Produce different size chips
- Work safely in roadside environments
Certification:
Successful candidates will be awarded an NPTC certificate of competence in woodchipper operations.

Course Fee: £240.00 per person
Please note this includes training, assessment and registration with NPTC. There is no VAT on our training.
Duration: 2 days (1 day training and 1 day for assessment)
