Course Details:
This two day course in Utility Arboriculture (unit 1 - ground worker) covers the requirements for safe working nearing proximity to overhead conductors which may be live and will give candidates the adequate knowledge and skills to ensure that they can safely act as a ground worker on electrical sites. The majority of this course is classroom based however there will be opportunities to view sites during your training. The course will be delivered by one of our NPTC approved instructors and assessment will follow on a separate date and will lead to NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture Unit 1.
Course Content:
- Basic principles of working safely in proximity to overhead and underground utility services
- Responsibility of workers whilst on site
- Identification of electrical equipment
- Electrical categorisation of trees
- Identification of zones
Certification:
Assessment will take place on a separate day usually within two weeks of completing the training depending on assessor availability and candidate ability.
The assessment contains 2 compulsory parts:
- Part 1.1 Site Work Safety
- Part 1.2 System components, Tree Categories and Zones
Successful candidates will be awarded the NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture - Ground Worker (Unit 1).
