Dismantling (Sectional Felling) Operations - CS41

Course Details:

This four day course will take place on-site or at Barony College. It will be delivered by one of Barony's qualified forestry instructors and leads to NPTC assessment CS41.

Course Content:

• Identification, inspection and preparation of climbing equipment and rigging equipment.
• Set up working ropes to lower and or guide severed  timber to the ground using recognised knots hitches and eye slings in conjunction with the ground crew.
• Understanding the benefits of specialised rigging equipment, understanding the construction requirements, bend ratios and cycles to failure and the safe working loads of rigging equipment
• Removal of vertical trunk in sections using a chainsaw.

Assessment: NPTC assessments take place on a separate day, usually a couple of weeks after training, depending on assessor availability. Successful candidates will be awarded NPTC Certificate of Competence in Sectional Felling Operations (CS41)

Course Fee:  £700.00 per person

Please note this includes 4 days training, assessment and registration with NPTC.  There is no VAT on our training.

Entry Requirements:

Candidates should have completed CS30, 31, 38 and 39 prior to this course.

Additional Information:

Equipment: Rope, harness, karabiners and helmet with chin strap required. Climbing equipment to be used on course must have appropriate LOLER certificate. Equipment can be provided for course if required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
