Course Details:
Barony College are now offering the UKCC level 2 Qualification to those candidates who would be eligible for this course.
The UKCC level 2 Equestrian Coaching Certificate is a vocational qualification that provides you with the opportunity to learn and be assessed on the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching riding. On successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Equestrian Coaching, you will be able to:
- Review and analyse the needs of participants
- Establish a safe coaching environment
- Prepare the environment and the participants for coaching sessions
- Establish and maintain good working relationships
- Deliver coaching sessions which develop participant’s performance
- Use session evaluations to monitor and develop personal practice
This qualification is made up of two separate Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) units as follows:
- Plan and Prepare a Series of Coaching Sessions
- Coach Participants and Develop Personal Practice
Assessment:
This qualification will be assessed by evidence provided by your coaching logbook/portfolio as well as an obersvation on your coaching practice.
Course Duration:
The course will run over 3 days with a separate day for assessment.

Day 1: 10th October - 9am - 4pm
Day 2: 17th October - 9am - 4pm
Day 3: 24th October - 9am - 4pm
Course Fee:
£500.00 per person
Please note: £288.75 of Bursary funding is available from Horse Scotland which can be deducted from the course fee.
