Engineering
With modern, spacious and equipped engineering workshops and access to the latest equipment, students and trainees at Barony have a superb facility for practical training. By studying with us as a full-time student or block release trainee, you can gain the practical skills that employers value most highly. We have been providing specialist training for the Engineering industry for over 40 years, with current programmes encompassing the needs of Agricultural Engineering and Forestry Engineering. The College has close working relationships with a range of machinery manufacturers which provides trainees with access to high technology equipment.
The prospects for trainees completing our Modern Apprenticeship in Service Engineering are outstanding. The industry places a premium on the more advanced engineering skills which help you to develop once you have mastered the basics. These include the repair and servicing of engines, transmissions and hydraulic systems and will provide an overview of the sophisticated electronic systems used on modern machinery. You will be exposed to modern agricultural and forestry machines and have the option to specialise in either sector.
