Our Distance Learning programmes are under development and are expanding. The College recognise that it is often impossible for keen individuals wanting to enter aquaculture or fisheries management to undertake a full-time course, or work-based SVQ programme. However, we can help you to achieve your goal by offering alternative routes through Distance Learning, which can be undertaken in the work-place or through home based study.

STUDENT CASE STUDY
Rafat Al-tamimi was an international student who came over to Scotland from the Yemen to study HNC Fish Farming in 2009/10.
He chose Barony to gain some practical experience as well as using it as a platform to progress into year two of BSc Honours in Aquaculture at the University of Stirling.
Rafat said:
“I searched for a fish farming course everywhere in the UK and I came to the conclusion that Barony College was the best place to do it. The wonderful facilities and the practical work have given me the opportunity not just to learn, but to gain experience. I made lots of good friends at Barony in such a short time. After completion of my course, my plan is to gain employment in the industry and obtain more experience before I can hopefully continue with my studies and do an MSc”.
