Course Details:
The full-time HNC in Agriculture one year course is aimed at developing the business management and technical knowledge of people working in, or working towards a career in the agriculture industry. The course will involve considering the influence of animal welfare, environmental issues and marketing on agriculture production.
A range of topics is covered during the course including:
- Livestock Science and Production Systems
- Grass and Fodder Crop Production
- Arable Crop Production and Harvesting
- Farm Accounts and Records
Barony College farm and estate along with a range of other farm and rural business visits will complement the course.
Successful learners may progress to a HND Agriculture course.
Entry Requirements:
- A genuine interest and motivation in agriculture with appropriate Scottish Higher level qualifications and Standard Grades, or equivalents, ideally in English, Maths and a Science subject
- A satisfactory level of achievement in National Certificate Agriculture or equivalent
- At least one year of industry experience or equivalent
