Eighteen prizes were awarded to students who made particular achievements, progress or contribution to their course with prize winners nominated by tutors from each section of Barony College.
The awards ceremony was followed by a champagne and strawberries reception in the college campus where students and their families had an opportunity to mingle with guest speaker Alan Hughes, Co-ordinator of Joint Working from Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Funding Council.
Some of the students awarded certificates will return to Barony College to continue with their studies, but most will go on to employment, self employment or further specialist training. Principal Russell Marchant said the students could look forward to a bright future.
"Across the country it's a nervous time for college students, leaving their place of study and entering the world of employment during this time of economic uncertainty. I know that many of our students have already secured employment or training, and the industry experience and the practical skills our students have developed in land based sectors will stand them in very good stead for the future. Hard working, skilled young people are in great demand in many of our rural land based industries, and I wish each and every one of our students an exciting and rewarding future career."
