Welcome To SRUC Barony Campus
On October 1st 2012, Barony College merged with Oatridge and Elmwood Colleges and the Scottish Agricultural College to become SRUC, Scotland’s Rural College.Â
Please visit www.sruc.ac.uk to find out more about SRUC.
At SRUC Barony Campus you can study agriculture, animal care, engineering, equine studies, fisheries studies, forestry and arboriculture, horticulture, veterinary nursing, and we also provide programmes for students with disabilities. On our campus you have access to excellent practical facilities and specialist staff to support you through your studies.
Barony Campus, set in 260 hectares in South West Scotland, has been attracting applicants from across the UK and overseas for over 25 years and is now a founding partner of SRUC.
SRUC exists to deliver comprehensive skills, education and business support for Scotland’s land-based and animal care industries, founded on world class and sector-leading research, education and consultancy. The integration of these three complementary ‘knowledge exchange’ services will be of significant value to our many audiences – be they learners, businesses, communities or policy-makers.
The four college partners have combined more than a century of experience in research, education and rural business consultancy to establish SRUC. We are unique in Scotland and the largest organisation of its kind in Europe. We are excited about SRUC’s future and our ambition is to grow. We aim to carry out our work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.
Our aim is to build a culture of excellence through the development of a Rural University College with degree awarding powers. We aim to become the UK’s leading agriculturally-focused Higher Education Institution, with increased global links and impact. Through high quality and relevant courses combined with excellence in teaching and support, our students will enjoy enhanced opportunities to progress in their studies from access level right up to PhD.
